Around 120,000 garment workers across Europe are being forced to work in high risk environments despite the coronavirus pandemic, according to campaigners.

A joint investigation by the Clean Clothes Campaign (CCC) and the German non-profit, Bread for the World, says factory managers continue to force workers to report to work in countries such as Serbia, Ukraine, Croatia and Bulgaria despite the high risk of infection.

They say that the workers are paid far less than a living wage to make clothes for German fashion brands including Hugo Boss, Gerry Weber and Esprit.
