The 1st scaled polyester project (Zhongtai) in Xinjiang starts construction

The polyester project of Xinjiang Zhongtai (Group) Co., Ltd. covering 500kt/year of capacity started construction on Mar 29, 2020, which was the first scaled polyester project in Xinjiang.

This project with 3.4 billion RMB of investment value is scheduled to finish building and start operation by the end of 2021, to own 250kt/year of PFY and 250kt/year of PSF capacity, which plays a critical role in connecting the chemical industry and downstream textiles and apparel sector. It is anticipated to have 3.76 billion RMB of annual sales revenue and near 57 million RMB of tax after production commenced, directly provide around 600 jobs and offer above 50,000 jobs in the supporting industry like fabric manufacturing and printing and dyeing sector.

Zhongtai will have 4 new projects in 2020, and 3 of the 4 are located in Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, involved 7.5 billion RMB of investment and belonging to the key project in Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture. This polyester project with 500kt/year of capacity is one of the 4 new projects.
