Cotton target price subsidy to be released in Xinjiang 65% POLYESTER 35% COTTON YARN

Recently, cotton farmers in the Wusu area of North Xinjiang and Makit of South Xinjiang have been noticed successively that the verification and issuance of cotton target price subsidies has been launched recently. It is expected that the cotton subsidy funds in 2018 will be issued to the cotton growers very quickly, which is undoubtedly a good news for the majority of cotton farmers.

According to the notice, the cotton subsidy standard for farmers in Wusu this year is based on the selling volumes of seed cotton calculated by the National Development and Reform Commission till Jan 31 2019. The subsidy amount is 0.918 yuan/kg for seed cotton. And for Kashgar, Hotan, Kizilsu Kirghiz and Aksu of South Xinjiang, the subsidy is still implemented with the combination of the actual planting area and the selling volumes of seed cotton. At present, Makit County in Kashgar will be subsidized according to the planting area of 86.268 yuan/mu and the seed cotton sales volume of 0.918yuan/kg.

In addition, the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps conducts cotton price subsidies according to its actual situation. According to the distribution of the First division the Eighth Division, the subsidy is generally at 0.73 yuan/kg.

In Xinjiang, a few regions are implemented the subsidy of “price insurance + futures” and the amount of subsidies received by cotton farmers is 1.34 yuan/kg. It is understood that insurance expenses are subject to the financial subsidy support policy, which is arranged by the autonomous region's finances from the central cotton target price reform subsidy funds, and the cotton farmers do not pay premiums, which is greatly boosted the enthusiasm of cotton farmers.
